1. FOOD
"Food is any substance consumed to provide nutritional support for the body. It is usually of plant or animal origin, and contains essential nutrients, such as carbohydrates, fats, proteins, vitamins, or minerals. The substance is ingested by an organism and assimilated by the organism's cells in an effort to produce energy, maintain life, or stimulate growth."
A healthy diet is one that helps maintain or improve general health. It is important for lowering many chronic health risks, such as obesity, heart disease, diabetes, hypertension and cancer. A healthy diet involves consuming appropriate amounts of all essential nutrients and an adequate amount of water. Nutrients can be obtained from many different foods, so there are numerous diets that may be considered healthy. A healthy diet needs to have a balance of macro nutrients (fats, proteins, and carbohydrates), calories to support energy needs, and micro nutrients to meet the needs for human nutrition without inducing toxicity or excessive weight gain from consuming excessive amounts.
Eat in small portions. Avoid fast food. Too much salt or sugar might taste good but it also makes you fat. Eat raw food as much as you can (by that, I mean fruits and vegetables. Especially ones that contain lots of water and natural sugar. That will give you energy and it makes you "visit the toilet" often :) )
Drink lots and lots of water! Start and end your day with a glass of water. Make sure you drink water before your meals. That will help you not eat more than you need to. Drink water during exercise,, drink, drink, drink...make drinking water a habit of yours. It is hard in the beginning because you feel like you're not thirsty and you need no water, but after couple of days, you will feel weird without having a bottle of water next to you :)
2. EXERCISE
Let exercise be an expression of how wonderful the human body can be!!!
Weight loss is all about burning more calories than you eat, but what's
the best way to do that? Knowing the basics of how to lose weight, how
to exercise for weight loss and how to motivate yourself are essential
for creating a program that works for you. These resources will give
you the tools you need to lose weight.
Too often we take drastic measures to see results -- diets, pills or
those weird fitness gadgets on infomercials that promise instant
success. Maybe you lose weight but what happens when you go off that
diet or stop that crazy workout program? You gain it all back and more.
The real secret to weight loss is to make small, lasting changes. The
key is to forget about instant results and settle in for the long run.
Exercise is an important weight loss tool, but how much you need varies from person to person. The guidelines
recommend at least 250 minutes per week, which comes out to about 50
minutes, 5 days a week. If you're a beginner, start small gradually adding time each week
to give your body time to adapt. Learn more about getting in shape and getting started with exercise.
No diet will help you loose weight and have a nice and fit body without exercise! Forget about "magic pills and thingies" that will help you loose weight without sweating! So put on some snickers and WORKOUT! Burn all the calories :)
3. REST
A relaxation technique (also known as relaxation training) is any method, process, procedure, or activity that helps a person to relax; to attain a state of increased calmness; or otherwise reduce levels of anxiety, stress or anger. Relaxation techniques are often employed as one element of a wider stress management program and can decrease muscle tension, lower the blood pressure and slow heart and breath rates, among other health benefits.
SLEEP! Sleep is a heightened anabolic state, accentuating the growth and rejuvenation of the immune, nervous, skeletal and muscular systems.
Sleep is often thought to help conserve energy, but decreases metabolism only about 5–10%.!!
You know how important good nutrition and exercise are for your health and beauty, but do you know sleep is crucial too? When you doze you're getting more than rest. Sleep researchers say your body is healing and repairing itself.
